Celebrating Success - Welcome

Welcome to my Celebrating Success Blog.

Here you will find a record of my achievements and my reflections on how they are helping me become a successful learner, confident individual, effective contributor and a responsible citizen.

Effective Contributor

At the start of S2 our class went to Hoy for a few days. Our activities included canoeing and kayaking, archery, cycling, and crossing a marshy area by zip-wire. In the evenings we also did team problem solving.

At the end of the trip I had worked effectively by myself and in groups. I had shared my ideas and listened to others. It was a great experience and I would enjoy doing something like it in the future.

Responsible Citizen

This year, I took part in 'Bag the Bruck', in my own time and at school. Me and another few people walked from KGS to Papdale School and around the pitches, back to the school. By the end of it, we had a bin-bag full of rubbish people had dropped.

By doing this, it shows how much litter people drop without thinking about it. I learned it is worth-while to find the nearest bin and put your packets and bottles in it. I also realised that even though its not your rubbish, you can really help by doing a little bit every once in a while.

Confident Individual

In Drama this year, we got in to groups and did a scene from a play called 'A lota Chocolata'. I played a servant called Colombina. Our group performed it in front of the class and I thought we did well.

Playing a character in front of the class helped me to be confident to speak out to a big group of people. I worked with the rest of my group well and worked hard, but we had good fun too.

Successful Learner

I've completed and presented lots of power-points this year, including 'Energy', 'Netball' and 'Lady Gaga'.

I created the 'Energy' power-point in I.T. It's all about why we should save energy and how we can.

By making the power-point, I improved my power-point skills, learned about the effect global warming is having and it made me think about using energy more efficiently.
